It is, of course, the worst of vanities to keep a public journal/blog/diary. The conceit is that gazillions of lost souls will wander past and peek in at your private universe, be startled at the light within and then embrace you with recognition, empathy, and who can say, perhaps even love?

Yet you have concealed/advertised your deepest thoughts in amongst a library of thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of other similar journals. The chances of that a random stranger will pick up yours and spare you more than three seconds is remote. Your desperate rescue signal will flicker on their radar for a few moments but is unlikely to illicit any response. They will float off into the darkness as silently as they approached.

Flirt, rant, scream, self-harm, whatever. Its difficult to generate sound in a vacuum. Lets see.
